Our Professional Staff 
We have two health professionals on staff to guarantee that you will get the help and advice that fits you individual needs. We recommend that you get a free physical check by our Ayurvedic doctor as you enter the program. This information along with the program directors interview will give us a very complete picture of what your present health needs are and design a well informed detox program for each participant. . If you already have a health professional that you prefer to follow that is fine.

Sanumaiya (Radha) Risal is a holistic health consultant with five years of training and experience in herbal organic food supplements for health and healing. Her business, Organic Food Supplement Enterprise, licensed in Nepal, is thriving. She has moved her business from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Sanumaiya holds a B.S. in sociology and worked with United Nations programs for HIV prevention and also disadvantaged children. In the Maldives she worked as a beautician in a hi-end resort. 
She will also be preparing delicious vegetarian, local Nepali delights for our meals and snacks and She will provide traditional Hindu ceremonies, 'puja', each morning.

About: Albert Schmaedick, a resident volunteer therapist at the retreat. Albert was first introduced to meditation 25 years ago when he attended a 10-day retreat with Ruth Dennison, a Vipassana teacher and student of Goenka. After studying with Ruth for five years he met Kobun Chino, a Japanese Zen Master in the lineage of Suzuki Roshi of Tasahara, California. Upon completing a year of study with Kobun Albert was ordained as a lay monk and has been teaching meditation ever since. He also studied with Jack Kornfield who was trained by Ajahn Chah, the renowned Vipassana forest monk of Thailand. He has taught detox and meditation at Chiva Som Health Resort and the Earth Spa, Evason, both in Hua Hin, Thailand. He is the former owner  and director of the Mt. Shasta, CA. Wellness and detox Center. He studied detoxification therapy with the late Dr. Ann Wigmore of the Hipocrates Institute in Puerto Rico.
Albert has an M.A. in clinical psychology and practices cognitive restructuring (Buddhist psychology) with individuals, couples and families. He is an expert in guiding people through lifestyle changes and internal cleansing and fasting programs.
